Highlights and lowlights...

OK, so obviously I'm not referring to hair...of course I'm talking about the "big game." And, I have to be honest, I'm disappointed. I would have rather seen the Bears win, but they got beat, there's no question about it. The Colts played considerably better.
That being said, I must congratulate Indianapolis. To all of my dear friends from Purdue or those who just hopped on the Manning band-wagon...CONGRATULATIONS!

Tony Dungy is a man I can definitely celebrate for. First of all, a lot of his football career has been in Minnesota. Not only did he star as a quarterback at University of Minnesota from 1973-76. But, he also finished his career as the school's all-time leader in attempts, completions, passing yards and touchdown passes. Then he spent some time with the Vikings as defensive coordinator (1992-95). So, you see, it makes some sense that I would be happy for him. More than being happy, I respect him. I admire someone who is able to give glory to the Lord on national television. Rather than focusing on himself, he is a humble man who gives the credit for his success to God and His divine power. I think his character and faith stand out much more than his football success record. This I can certainly celebrate!

On to the part of the game I was really thrilled about...one specific commercial. (You all know you're fans of the ads, come on and admit it.) This one is especially near and dear to my heart as it features a friend my brother and I grew up with. Note "Steve" the red-head who is informed that the fist bump is no longer "cool" :

"Steve" is actually Sean, a great family friend who we used to vacation with over holidays and Spring Breaks. We had the privilege of spending Thanksgiving with him this past year in sunny Palm Springs. Little did we know about the fame that was around the corner. Well done Sean, we can't wait to see what's next!

With all the focus on the game, the coaches and the commercials, the best part was being able to spend the day with Nick. No matter how the game turned out, I still got to celebrate with him!

I thought for sure you were going to say the highlight was how happy you were for your dominant Indy friends Adam and Katie.
