We hope that you're enjoying a wonderful Easter day celebrating with loved ones, remembering Jesus's resurrection, snacking on chocolate treats and maybe even watching The Masters!
It's a gorgeous here in Columbus. We started our day with breakfast just the three of us, followed by a very successful Easter egg hunt in the basement, then we were off to church and brunch at the local First Watch. We'd love to be celebrating with extended family, but it was really nice just doing something with our "little family." :)
Stella loved hunting for eggs and was convinced that there had to be more even after we insisted they had all been found. Her favorite eggs you ask...??? The ones filled with M&Ms! (--she's clearly my daughter and my father's grand-daughter!)
One other big development this weekend was the switch to a "big girl bed!" As of Friday night, Stella is out of her crib! We don't want to buy a second crib for baby, so we're making the adjustment now...is this the right thing to do? Not sure, but it's going well so far!
Stella is now sleeping in a twin bed that was her Grandma Bettcher's from when she was a little girl. So far she has not gotten out of the bed without calling for us first, she hasn't fallen out--even without rails on the bed (not that we expected her to anyway), and yesterday when she got up from her nap we found her reading the books that were on the nightstand next to her when she went to sleep. So, despite my fears and uncertainty about the freedom that comes with leaving the crib, she has once again proved to me that she transitions really well and all we have to do is help to guide her. She'll be just fine. So glad she's teaching me so much!
