Photo Shoot!

Well, still no baby!

The other morning I was trying to clear the snow and ice off of Liz's car and decided I would take it to work that day because she has smelled gas fumes inside the vehicle. In the process, I managed to break our ice scraper. I figured I had gotten enough ice off the windshield and would be able to drive safely. While driving away, there was still quite a bit of ice in my view so I thought I could gently punch the windshield from inside the car a few times in an effort to break up the ice. Well, it turns out that I'm stronger than I thought. We now have a beautiful spiderweb of cracks in the windshield. Knowing that we needed to get Liz a new car soon anyway, this sure helped in expediting the process.

Today we went car shopping. I'm so blessed to be married to Liz for so many reasons, but today reminded me of what a trooper she is. Cincinnati was supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow and we still went car shopping. Even though this city freaks out over the idea of precipitation, we decided to brave it. My favorite moments of the day were when we would be carefully walking through the snow-filled dealership lots and the salesmen would ask, "So, when are 'we' due?" Liz would nonchalantly answer, "Monday." I think every time we got the same response...."WHAT!?" followed by "You guys are CRAZY!"

Aside from car shopping two days before the due date in moderate flurries, we thought we should get a few more shots of "The Belly," so we set up shop for a photo shoot. For those of you not geographically close to us, here you go:

Hi Liz,
Well as the hours go by, it looks like you won't deliver Baby Miesen on your due date as you pretty much planned would be the case.
So excited to come and count little fingers and toes.
Love and prayers for you and Nick and your babe.
Love, Mom

You look so amazing - what a beautiful photo. Thanks for sharing.
As I think I have shared with you both, Ash Wednesday is my favorite day of the year - a day of new beginnings!! So, my prayer is to celebrate it with a very new beginning and the birth of your child. Keep us posted....
Love you.
